Frequently Asked Questions
|
Will it hurt?
Topical anesthetics are applied before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable
experience possible. However, some discomfort may be felt, especially for lip color.
On a scale of 1-10, most people will usually be somewhere between a 0-3.
How long is the procedure?
It generally takes about one to two hours.
How long will it last?
It varies. Permanent makeup lasts a long time, but not forever. For best results, most procedures will need to
be freshened up every few years. Results will depend on many factors, including sun and weather exposure,
aging and genetics.
What is involved in recovery?
There will be some swelling and redness in the skin, which should subside quickly. Most recovery times last
from a few days to a couple of weeks. You will experience light sensitivity with the eyeliner procedure, so be
sure to bring some dark sunglasses for your drive home. After the procedure it is advisable to go home and
rest, applying cold packs to the area during the first few hours. Swelling will be worse the following day and
then begin to gradually improve. The brows swell the least, eyes and lips more.
Large amounts of pigment are implanted in order to acquire enough color after the healing process. During
the next 3-4 days, your makeup will go through changes of exfoliation and will peel and fade to a soft shade.
It is not uncommon to go 70% lighter.
Immediately after tattooing, the skin goes through a process of oxidation. This is caused by wet pigments
exposure to air. This gives a darker appearance. It will lighten as it dries into the skin. Within 5-7 days your
makeup will peel and reveal a much softer and lighter shade. The color will come back when you are fully
healed, usually in about 30 days.
